Latrise Sheriff is a culture-inspired visual artist, and Chicago native now deeply rooted in Dallas, Texas.
A self taught artist, Latrise is also coincidentally and notably a former educator. After taking a leap of faith, she now acts as Creative Director and Wardrobe Stylist for a fashion forward and successfully driven Dallas boutique.
Latrise Sheriff is a culture-inspired visual artist, and Chicago native now deeply rooted in Dallas, Texas.
A self taught artist, Latrise is also coincidentally and notably a former educator. After taking a leap of faith, she now acts as Creative Director and Wardrobe Stylist for a fashion forward and successfully driven Dallas boutique. In those same 24 hours, she has pursued her passion for art and has managed to paint her expressions on blank canvases, and garments.
Latrise has been majorly influenced by the genius works of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. Her paintings demonstrate cultural awareness, black representation, and social influences. She paints these stories using lucid color combinations, meticulous brush strokes, blurred lines, graffiti, disproportionate figures, and powerful embedded statements. Her distinctive use of abstract is intentional and not to distract us from the injustices of the world.

Beyond art, my passion has always led me to be expressive in any art form. Everything I do is to translate a form of personal creativity. Many years ago, I learned that often the most gifted in this world of art are those most unsuspecting. My days working with special needs children revealed how especially gifted they are. Beyond art, my passion has always led me to be expressive in any art form. Everything I do is to translate a form of personal creativity. Many years ago, I learned that often the most gifted in this world of art are those most unsuspecting. My days working with special needs children revealed how especially gifted they are. The attention to detail and the retention of information silently being gathered then recreated into an incredible artcoalescence. This form of innate creativity deserved a platform dedicated to showcasing its talent and fostering the raw gift of each student. Art Cares For Children has missioned to bring this experience forward through a youth artclass and gallery showcase.
The funding received through donations will help curate a two day art experience. Day one will offer a festive art class with creator Latrise Sheriff herself. Students will have the opportunity to be free with art expression inspiration and begin its design with onsite guidance and assistance. Day two will serve as a grand finale of completion of masterpiece. Following on a later date a grandeur gallery showcase. Funding will help offer students and their families an opportunity to experience an authentic art exhibit reveal. Each artwork will be framed and packaged to be sold, to help generate funds for scholarships to help support their Art career.
